We are raising funds to feed those who help bring food to our tables.

Hijas del Campo (HDC) began during the pandemic and the California fires. During this time, our farm-working families were hit the hardest. HDC conducted a survey, and the one thing that was needed most was food. Kids were home from school, and access to the free lunches was limited or inaccessible, along with many who were not eligible to receive the stimulus checks.

Hijas del Campo ensured the Contra Costa County farmworkers had direct food support. This happened by being delivered directly to their homes by the founders. The food was purchased from generous donations from our community members locally and nationally.

Things have not changed much now in quarter 4 of 2023, and many of our families are still dealing with food insecurities. We are currently supporting over 420+ families with monthly food distributions. Each of these distributions ensures that our families have the basic staples on their and their family's plates. We have a directory of over 1,600+ people, with about 631.5 of them being children.

Currently, our food bags are costing at about $25 - $30 per family.

We cannot do this without your support.

Despensa day for our Campesinx's who live in San Joaquin County. They work in Contra Costa County and commute from SJC. We hold a monthly despensa there for them, so they don't have to waist gas on commuting to get their despensa bags.

Food and home essentials are taken to families while working in the farm packing sheds.

Field outreach - where we take food to our field workers directly.

Healthy food options are what we look for and include in our despensas.

We were able to connect with a local farmer for fresh eggs!
